Oak Park personal injury lawyer Gregory F. After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) in 1988, Greg attended Northern Illinois University College of Law and was awarded his law degree in 1992.

Since receiving his license to practice law, Greg Coplan has successfully prosecuted cases on behalf of injured clients and their families throughout Illinois and other states across the country.  In recognition of his accomplishments and success for his clients, Greg was honored by being invited to join the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a national group of trial lawyers who have achieved million, multi-million, and billion dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of their clients.  Attorney Coplan understands case results matter.

From Railroad Accidents To Medical Malpractice, Attorney Coplan Delivers Results

Greg is active professionally as a member of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), American Association for Justice (AAJ), and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA). As an AAJ member, Greg belongs to the Professional Negligence Section and the Interstate Trucking Litigation Group. With ITLA, he is a member of the Medical Negligence and Civil Practice and Rules Committees. Greg has co-chaired ITLA’s Seminar Planning Committee, has co-chaired ITLA’s Medical Negligence Committee since 2013, and since 2007, has served on the Editorial Board for ITLA’s acclaimed magazine, the Trial Journal. Greg has received an “AV Preeminent” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, indicating his peers consider him to have achieved the highest level of professional excellence for his legal knowledge, communication skills, and ethical standards. He is also listed in Marquis Who’s Who in American Law. Since 2009, Greg has been designated an Illinois Super Lawyer by his peers, and is also recognized as a Leading Lawyer in Illinois.

In addition, Greg has been a frequent lecturer to bar association groups, has served as a faculty member for AAJ’s three-day Trial Advocacy Colleges: Depositions, and was an invited panelist on a cable television program underwritten by the Illinois State Bar Association, “Mediation in Medical Malpractice Cases.” From 1999 to the present, he has also authored chapters included in the Medical Malpractice Trial Notebook, published by the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.

In the Oak Park-River Forest community, Greg is active in the First Presbyterian Church in River Forest, a member of the Board of Directors for the OPRF Youth Football program and OPRF Pony Baseball, and has served as a coach with the River Forest Park District house basketball program, and with River Forest’s Little League baseball program. Coplan & Crane has also been a perennial sponsor of teams in the River Forest Youth Baseball and Softball league, supporting both girls’ and boys’ programs.

Greg lives in River Forest, Illinois, with his wife and three children. Greg is admitted to practice before the state court in Illinois, and the United States District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois. Greg has also been admitted to practice before federal and state courts in Iowa and Indiana, and is handling cases in a number of other courts across the country.
