(February 16, 2018) – Coplan + Crane has announced that veteran medical malpractice attorney Kevin G. Burke has joined the Oak Park, Illinois law firm.
Burke had previously spent 35 years as a successful attorney in Chicago, where he became known as a highly effective medical malpractice lawyer, recovering more than $600 million on behalf of injured clients.
“We are very fortunate to have Kevin on our team,” said firm co-founder Benjamin Crane. “His insight, experience and legal knowledge will be tremendous assets to our law firm.”
Burke began his legal career representing insurers, doctors and hospitals in medical malpractice cases and companies in product liability claims. A rising lawyer at the time, he became a plaintiff’s attorney after receiving a job offer from legendary Chicago personal injury attorney Philip Corboy.
In 2002, Burke became a founding partner of Burke Wise Morrissey & Kaveny, representing victims of medical negligence. He left the firm in 2016.
Selected as one of the Top Ten Illinois Attorneys in Personal Injury law each year from 2003-2016, Burke has lectured extensively on legal issues and written articles for legal publications. He has also taught at Notre Dame Law School.
