Blake M. Vance is a Partner at Coplan + Crane and a trial attorney who exclusively represents individuals and families who have been injured or killed by someone else’s wrongful conduct and negligence.

His expertise spans various areas, including products liability, which is the area of law for when someone is injured or killed by a defective product. Additional areas in which Blake represents clients are construction site injuries, workplace injuries, transportation negligence (car, truck, and railroad), premises liability, and wrongful death cases.

Helping people rise above their worst days is what drives Blake. Blake’s primary objective is to minimize his clients’ stress and anxiety while ensuring his clients receive the full and complete compensation they deserve for injuries or deaths caused by others’ negligence.

Blake pursued his legal education at John Marshall Law School, attending classes at night, while working as a paralegal at a Bridgeport law firm. His outstanding academic performance earned him the prestigious Herzog Scholar title in 2008, recognizing him as the top-ranked student in his class.

In 2011, Blake joined Coplan + Crane as a paralegal and later transitioned to an associate attorney after obtaining his law degree in 2012. His dedication and hard work culminated in his promotion to partner in 2020, a testament to his exceptional legal skills and commitment to his clients.

Blake has secured over $29,000,000 in successful outcomes for his clients in the Chicago area, including:

  • $15,000,000 Winnebago County jury verdict for the daughters of a 64-year-old woman who died in a trucking wreck, which was a record at the time.
  • $2,116,500 settlement for an ice-related slip-and-fall case in Cook County.
  • $1,537,046 jury verdict for a trip-and-fall case in Winnebago County against the City of Loves Park.
  • $1,410,000 Cook County jury verdict for injuries caused by a Home Depot employee.
  • $992,159 settlement for a wrongful death case involving a Ford F-250.
  • $900,000 settlement for an O’Hare airport crash involving a fuel truck.

In addition, Blake has contributed to several $1,000,000 settlements for wrongful death and personal injury cases. Blake also achieved multiple six-figure settlements and verdicts for various personal injury and wrongful death cases, showcasing his dedication to obtaining justice for his clients.

Blake’s contributions to the legal field have not gone unnoticed. In 2017, he was honored as one of the Forty Under 40 attorneys in Chicago by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, highlighting his talent and dedication to the practice of law.

When not working, Blake can be found driving all over the Midwest, with his wife, attending sporting events for his three children while listening to Metallica (not enjoyed by his wife).
